Dawn Kwan

(she/her) MA, AThR

Registered Counsellor – Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC)

Dawn believes that change often invites us to reorganise our inner world and redefine ourselves. This tender process of engaging in therapeutic support can allow space for a deeper relationship with oneself and reconnect with what truly matters to them.

She specialises in working with adults from a range of diverse backgrounds. Through a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, Dawn supports clients to: honour and process challenging emotions, identify and shift self-limiting core beliefs, reconnect with the inner child through play and creative expression, develop healthy boundaries and assertive communication, reconcile past experiences, and foster present-moment self-acceptance.

Dawn is passionate about connections and being present when journeying with her clients. Her psychotherapeutic approach is grounded in a people-centric, insight-orientated, trauma-informed, psychodynamic and somatic lens. Dawn works from a bottom-up perspective and integrates Somatic Experiencing, Art Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness.

Dawn holds a Master’s in Art Psychotherapy from LASALLE College of the Arts. She also has received scholarships from The Red Pencil Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and LASALLE College of the Arts. Dawn is also trained in somatic experiencing.

She also actively collaborates with non-profit organisations, including Project X for sex workers in Singapore, the Humanitarian Organization of Migration Economics (HOME), St Andrew’s Autism Centre, and Bethesda Care Centre’s FAME Club. Through auctioning her artworks, Dawn has raised over S$400,000 for various charitable causes, including Vietnam Outreach, The New Charis Mission, the National Cancer Institute, the Heart Foundation, the Kidney Dialysis Foundation, and the Asian Women’s Welfare Association.
